Dr. Edwin B. Hayes, M.D.
Dr. Edwin Hayes had a distinguished military career in the United States Army serving as an officer in the Corps of Engineers. His career included positions such as; Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Company Commander, General's Aide as well as Assignment Officer.
Dr. Hayes resigned his regular Army Commission to attend medical school at the University Of Miami School Of Medicine . After completing residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio Texas , Dr. Hayes transferred to Alexandria , Virginia .
He served as Chief of Clinical Services for the Department of OB/GYN at Moncrief Army Community Hospital and an Associate Professor at Uniform Services University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. He received multiple awards for Academic Excellence during his tenure to include recognition as “Outstanding Professor of The Year.” While on active duty Dr. Hayes received numerous awards to include the coveted Meritorious Service Medal.
Dr. Hayes transferred to Melbourne , Florida in the summer of 2000. Initially he was with a large multi-specialty group. In October of 2002 Dr. Hayes founded OB/GYN Specialists of Brevard on a very basic principle: Patients will experience exceptional service, teaching and patient care in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.
OB/GYN Specialists of Brevard immediately established a thriving practice with loyal patients. Dr. Hayes specializes in: Normal & High Risk Pregnancies, Laparoscopic Surgeries, Uterine Sparing Surgeries, Menopause, Infertility, Sexual Dysfunction, Child Birth Classes, and Lactation Counseling. Dr. Hayes is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has hospital privileges at Holmes Regional Medical Center and Wuesthoff Medical Center Melbourne.
